Wrestling Falls To Cornell 21-14

PRINCETON, NJ - Greg Parker (Jr., Clifton Park, NY), ranked No. 6 in the nation at 174 lbs, remained undefeated in dual match action with a 4-0 win over No. 10 Jim Stanec, but the Princeton wrestling team fell to Cornell 21-14 on Friday night at Dillon Gymnasium. The loss drops the Tigers to 2-13 on the season and 0-2 in the Ivy League. Cornell is now 3-2, 1-0 during Ivy action.
Juan Venturi (Sr., Katy, TX) earned four points for Princeton with a major decision (17-5) over Jared Wolfley at 141 lbs. Milo Adams (So., Mentor, OH) defeated Chris Perch, 8-2, at 149 lbs. and Joe Looke (Sr., Houston, TX) came away with a 5-1 decision over Sean Wing in the heavyweight bout.
Matt Fisher (So., Pompton Lakes, NJ) faced No. 14 Matt Greenberg at 197 lbs., but suffered an 8-4 loss. at 184 lbs. Matt Fisher (So., Pompton Lakes, NJ) met the Big Red's Clint Wattenberg, ranked No. 9 in the nation. Wattenberg came away with an 18-4 win.
Princeton returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Franklin and Marshall. That match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
