Princeton, N.J. - Annamarie Holmes and Lisa Rasmussen each tallied one goal as the No. 8 Tigers fell to the No. 1 ranked Crimson of Harvard 5-2. With the loss Princeton slips to 11-5-2, 4-2-0 ECAC. Harvard remains unbeaten in ECAC competition at 7-0-0 and improves to 14-1-0.
Kalen Ingram put the Crimson on the board first with her fifth goal of the season at 18:06. Lauren McAuliffe had the puck down low behind the goal, and fed Corriero on the goal line. Corriero threaded the puck through the crease to Ingram on the doorstep and she parked it in the back of the net for a 1-0 Harvard lead.
Chu scored her at 10:38 in the second period when she capitalized on a Tiger turnover in its defensive zone and beat Princeton's Megan Van Beusekom. Angela Ruggerio added one more for the Crimson in the second as Harvard took a 3-0 lead. Chu scored her second goal of the evening and put Harvard up 4-0 when her shot ricocheted off the pipe, hit Van Beusekom's skate and slid over the goal line at 7:30 of the third period.
Annamarie Holmes put the Tigers on the board at 14:27 of the third period. She beat Jessica Rudduck with a hard shot that deflected of a crimson defender and found the right side of the net. Her power play goal was just the second that the Crimson have given up all season. Nikola Holmes and Gretchen Anderson assisted on the goal.
Princeton brought the score to 4-2 when Lisa Rasmussen notched her fourth goal of the season at 17:59. Sarah Shea found Rasmussen, in front of the Crimson, who redirected the pass into the back of the goal
Harvard posted one more goal with 1:24 remaining on the clock to bring the score to 5-2
Van Beusekom posted 29 saves in the loss for the Tigers. Ruddock finished the game with nine saves.
Princeton will take a two week break for exams before returning to the ice on January 16 when the Tigers host McGill in an exhibition.
