Providence, R.I. - The Princeton men's hockey team fell at 5-1 to Brown Saturday night at Meehan Auditorium. The Bears took a 1-0 lead early in the first period and never looked back as Princeton fell to 1-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 on the season.
Brown jumped on top 2:41 into the game on a goal from Sean Dersch. They extended the lead to 4-0 with three second-period goals, two of which came on the power-play.
Princeton got on the board with seven minutes remaining in the third period on a goal from freshman Grant Goeckner-Zoeller to move the Tigers within a goal of the Bears. Senior Steve Slaton assisted on the goal and now leads the team in points on the season with three.
Princeton sophomore goaltender Eric Leroux made 24 saves in the loss, while Yann Danis stopped 20 Tiger shots for the win. Princeton returns to the ice to start a three-game homestand at Baker Rink next Friday night a 7 p.m. against Dartmouth.
