Princeton, N.J. - Down 2-1 early in the first quarter, the Princeton men's water polo team went on a 5-1 run to end the quarter and never looked back as the Tigers downed Mercyhurst 15-10 in the opening game of the CWPA Southern Championships Friday evening at DeNunzio Pool.
Freshman Jason Diggs scored four goals in the win to lead the Princeton offense. The Tigers also received multiple-goal performances from junior T.J. Edwards, senior Sean McIntire and sophomore Ben Reitz. Freshman Scott Syverson earned the win in goal.

The top-seeded Tigers resume tournament play at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning against Grove City College. A win will clinch first place in Bracket A for Princeton and a meeting with the first-place finisher of Bracket B at 5:50 p.m. tomorrow evening.
