Men's Water Polo Clinches Easterns Berth With 11-1 Win Over Grove City

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's water polo team opened the scoring at 5:24 of the first quarter and never looked back as the Tigers defeated Grove City College 11-1 Saturday morning at the CWPA Southern Championships at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.
As the winner of Bracket A Princeton advances to the semifinals where it awaits the Bracket B winner, either Bucknell or Johns Hopkins who meet at 2:20 p.m. this afternoon.
By being assured of a fourth-place finish at Southern's, Princeton has clinched a berth at the CWPA Eastern Championships in two weeks at Bucknell.
A balanced Princeton effort led the Tigers to Saturday morning's win. Senior Spencer Rawles led the way offensively with three goals, while sophomore Eric Murphy and freshman Jason Diggs each added two goals. Freshman Scott Syverson earned his second consecutive win in goal. The win lifted Princeton to 20-4 on the season.
