PRINCETON - Despite a shocking 3-0 loss by No. 1 player Yasser El Halaby, the Princeton men's squash team defeated Dartmouth 8-1 at the Jadwin Squash Courts Saturday. Princeton will need an even stronger effort Sunday when it battles 2004 national finalist Harvard at 3 p.m.
El Halaby, who lost 3-2 to Yale's Julian Illingworth last weekend, fell 9-3, 9-2, 9-3 to a talented Ryan Donegor, but that was all Dartmouth had to celebrate. Princeton took care of business throughout the remainder of the lineup and swept the matches.
Three Princeton players lost their first games, including No. 2 player Robert Hong. Each would go on to win the next three, led by Hong's strong wins of 9-0, 9-6, 9-3 in his remaining games.
