PVC to Host Princeton Athletics Golf Classic

Princeton, NJ - Princeton University's Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the inaugural Princeton Athletics Golf Classic, hosted by the Princeton Varsity Club. The event will be held on Monday, July 11 at the scenic Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, NJ. A shotgun tee time is set for 1:00 PM and the tournament format will be a four-person scramble.
The 2005 Classic will be highlighted as a day of fraternizing and fun as it will play host to alumni and friends of Princeton Athletics, members of the Princeton Varsity Club, Tiger Corporate Partners, administrators, coaches, and other members of the Princeton community, and feature pre and post tournament social events, as well as various golf competitions, such as longest drive and closest to the pin. Participants will also receive free gifts and have the opportunity to bid on some exciting silent auction items. Jamie Zaninovich, Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Relations and Marketing, states, "This will be a great opportunity for all supporters of Princeton Athletics to enjoy a fun filled day of golf on the beautiful Princeton campus."
The cost for registration for the general public is $350 per person. Corporate partners and members of the Princeton Varsity Club will receive at $50 discount on their registration fee. There are also various sponsorship opportunities available for the event, ranging in price from $1,000 - $12,000. Donations are being accepted, as well, for the silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Princeton University Athletic Department.
Springdale Golf Club is a picturesque course located amidst the graduate college at Princeton University, and includes 18 holes of scenic views of the Princeton Campus. Listed by Golf Magazine as "One of the First 100 Golf Courses in America," Springdale was opened in 1915 by alumni, faculty and undergraduates of the University. It can trace its roots back to two nine-hole golf courses opened in 1896.
