CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Alan Fishman won the 25 free and the 100 back, and he was part of the winning 200 medley relay team, in the 144.5-92.5 victory over Dartmouth for the Princeton men's swimming and diving team. Princeton won nine of 14 events in Hanover, including both relays.
Princeton opened the win with a victory in the 200 medley relay. The team of Fishman, Seok Jun Lee, Ryan Becker and Will Reinhardt won in 1:36.09, and the relay team of Tim Ruse, Easton Chen, Mike Zee and Michael Baity placed second in 1:38.09.
The Tigers got their first individual win in the 100 free, as freshman Dan Eckel (9:51.06) barely topped senior teammate Brian Shue (9:51.29).
Fishman got his first individual win two events later by claiming the 25 free in 9.72. He would earn his double later on in the meet by winning the 100 back in 52.86.
Four other Tiger swimmers earned individual wins. Junior Mike Zee won the 100 fly in 50.78, Andrew Ballentine took the 400 IM in 4:15.13, Robert Griest won the 400 free in 3:44.20 and Alex Chiang won the 100 breast in 1:00.65. Several Tigers placed either second or third, helping Princeton to its big final edge. The final win of the day for Princeton came in the 250 free relay, as Mike Hodavance, Reinhardt, Mike Ott and Zee won in 1:55.35.
Princeton will compete at the H-Y-P meet next weekend.
