Kelly Woods Named Assistant Director Of Athletics For Compliance And General Administration

Kelly Woods has been named Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance and General Administration at Princeton University, Director of Athletics Gary Walters announced today. She replaces Greg Busch, who left to become Associate Director of Athletics at Rider.
Woods, who was previously Director of Eligibility Services at Rutgers, will assist in the Department of Athletics' efforts towards NCAA, Ivy League and institutional compliance, as well as working on various other functions related to administration, academics and student life for Princeton's more than 1,000 varsity athletes.
Woods is a 2001 graduate of Ohio State, where she was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey. She graduated magna cum laude with degrees in journalism and communications and behavioral and social sciences, and she earned national and Big Ten conference All-Academic recognition.
She then graduated in 2004 from Ohio State's Moritz College of Law before being admitted to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Associations. While in law school, she spent a year as an athletic compliance intern at Ohio State.
After law school graduation, Wood spent a year at Virginia Tech, where she served as Athletic Compliance Assistant. She then moved on to Rutgers, where she supervised all aspects of the eligibility and certification process for the Scarlet Knights' 800 varsity athletes.
A native of Hershey, Pa., Woods has also served as a field hockey coach for the U.S. Field Hockey Association Futures' program and was a participant in 2002 as a torchbearer for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
