Stuart Taylor to Speak on Oct. 18

Stuart Taylor, a lawyer turned journalist who recently published an indictment of the handling of the Duke lacrosse case, will speak on the Princeton campus as part of the Princeton Varsity Club's Jake McCandless '51 Speaker Series.
The title of the speech is “Until Proven Innocent: An Examination of the Duke Lacrosse Case.”
A 1970 graduate of Princeton, Taylor will speak Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7:30, in McCosh 50. The event is free and open to the public.
In addition to being the author of "Until Proven Innocent," Taylor is a nationally-known and respected weekly opinion columnist for the National Journal and a contributing editor for Newsweek.
Taylor is a 1977 graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was a note editor for the Harvard Law Review. He practiced law in Washington, D.C., until he joined the New York Times in 1980 as a legal affairs reporter, where his assignments included covering the U.S. Supreme Court from 1986-88. He has won numerous journalism awards and has frequently appeared on television discussing legal issues.
The Jake McCandless '51 PVC Speaker Series began in 2004 with a lecture from NCAA President Myles Brand. The series was endowed in the name of J. L. "Jake" McCandless '51, who coached Princeton to the 1969 Ivy League football championship during the Tigers' centennial year of football.
