Wrestling Trio Sweeps Pair In Team Defeats

The trio of Tony Comunale, Travis Erdman and Sam Ritter swept a pair of matches Saturday, but the Princeton wrestling team fell in both ends of a tri-meet with Binghamton and the Merchant Marine Academy.
Comunale and Erdman are members of the exciting Class of 2011, and both continued their early success. Comunale, the 125-pound starter, defeated Jordan Alfaro of the USMAA 4-0, and won another tight match over Binghamton's Tyler Malmberg 8-5. Erdman had an even more dominant day, pinning Sean Patrick of the USMMA in 2:07 and claiming a 12-1 major decision Binghamton's Brett Nelson. Ritter won by medical forfeit in the USMMA match and picked up a 7-2 win over Binghamton's Mike Patterson.
Princeton also got individual wins from Mike Alvarez (8-0 vs. USMMA) and Alex Enriquez (6-3 over Binghamton).
The injury-riddled Tigers were forced to forfeit both 149-pound matches.
