PRINCETON ? The Princeton University Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that the 4th Annual Princeton Athletics Golf Invitational, presented by Bank of America, will take place Mon., June 16, at the scenic Springdale Golf Club in Princeton. The tournament format will be a four-person scramble.
Join Princeton coaches, student-athletes and staff for a day of golfing fun at Springdale Golf Club as we host members of the Princeton Varsity Club, Tiger corporate partners and alumni and Friends of Princeton Athletics.
The cost for individual registration for the general public is $350 per person. Members of the Princeton Varsity Club, Tiger corporate partners and Friends of Princeton Athletics will receive a $50 discount on their registration fees. Bring a foursome and receive a special rate of $1,100.
There are also various sponsorship opportunities available for the event, ranging in cost from $1,000-$6,000. Donations are also being accepted for a silent auction, and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Princeton University Department of Athletics.
The day will begin with lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start set for 1 p.m. Participants will have a chance to play alongside a Princeton head coach and take part in various competitions, such as longest drive and closest to the pin contests. Golfers will also receive free gifts and have the opportunity to bid on great silent auction items that include Princeton athletic experiences and memorabilia.
“The Princeton Athletics Golf Invitational is a great event that brings our coaches and staff together with the people that support our program,” says Princeton men's hockey coach Guy Gadowsky. “I always enjoy the opportunity to get to know the members of the Princeton Athletics community in a casual setting, and Springdale is the perfect site.”
After a great day of golf, the evening will feature a cocktail hour and dinner featuring remarks from basketball Hall of Famer and legendary Tiger coach Pete Carril. This year, for those not participating in the golf tournament, Princeton Athletics is proud to offer tickets to the general public for the cocktail hour and dinner for just $50.
Springdale Golf Club, featuring a new clubhouse and driving range, is a picturesque course located amidst the Graduate College at Princeton and includes 18 holes with scenic views of the Princeton Campus. Listed by Golf Magazine as “One of the First 100 Golf Courses in America,” Springdale was opened in 1915 by alumni, faculty and undergraduates of the University. It can trace its roots back to two nine-hole golf courses opened in 1896.
