Wenzlau, Zalewski Pace Men's Water Polo to 15-8 Win at Johns Hopkins

After an even opening quarter that saw each team score three goals, Princeton broke the game open with four-straight goals in the second quarter to hold a 7-3 lead at the half. Princeton added six goals in the third quarter as it continued to build its lead.
Senior Mark Zalewski, who scored five goals to lead the team in Saturday mornings win at George Washington, had four goals in the win with one coming on a 5-meter shot. Freshman Tim Wenzlau also had four goals with two coming with the man advantage.
Senior Eric Vreeland and junior Matt Hale added two goals apiece. Vreeland's both came off set plays while Hale's came on man-up situations. Junior goalkeeper Mike Merlone made eight saves in three quarters for the win.
The win was Princeton's second of the day and moved the Tigers to 6-1 in the CWPA Southern Division regular season standings. The win also moved Princeton to 10-9 overall this season. The Tigers play at Navy Sunday at 11:30 a.m., with a chance to clinch the top spot in the Southern Division standings with a win.
