Jake McCandless Speaker Series Event Postponed By NCAA Soccer Game

The Princeton Varsity Club Jake McCandless Speaker Series event scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19, has been postponed because of the NCAA men's soccer game on campus.
The talk by Hall-of-Fame triathlete Karen Smyers '83 was scheduled to be held at the same time as the first-round NCAA soccer game between Princeton and Bucknell, which will be played Thursday night at 7 on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
Smyers was a swimmer and track athlete at Princeton who has gone on to be one of the world's best triathletes despite battling obstacles such as thyroid cancer, an accident in which she was hit by an 18-wheeler and a hamstring that was severed by broken glass.
