Syracuse Rallies to defeat Women's Hockey Team 4-3

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (12/11/09) - Syracuse scored three unanswered goals to erase a 3-1 deficit and rally for a 4-3 win over the Princeton women's hockey team on Friday night as the Tennity Ice Pavilion.
Princeton led 1-0 in the game and after the Orange evened the score, built a 3-1 lead with two goals in the second period. Syracuse got a goal back midway through the second and scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the third to come from behind and win.
The Tigers broke through first in the game when Julie Flynn scored at 4:39 with an assist from Corey Stearns. The Orange drew even with 43 seconds left in the opening period when Stefanie Marty netted a power-play goal, her first of two goals in the game.
Power-play goals from Heather Landry and Kelly Cooke at 6:54 and 11:54 of the second helped Princeton build a 3-1 lead, but Marty's second goal of the game at 13:37 brought her team within a goal entering the final period.
Syracuse drew even just over a minute into the third period when Isabel Menard scored on the power play and Julia Rising's power-play marker midway through the stanza proved to be the deciding goal in the Syracuse win.
Princeton freshman Cassie Seguin made 26 saves in the loss, while Syracuse netminder Lucy Schoedel stopped 23 shots for the win.
The Tigers fell to 7-7-1 overall with the loss. The teams conclude their series on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
