Men's Squash Stays Unbeaten With 8-1 Win At Brown
December 05, 2010 | Men's Squash
A thrilling win by senior Nikhil Seth was the Saturday highlight for the Princeton men's squash team, which earned its first road win of the season with an 8-1 victory at Brown.
The win improves Princeton to 3-0 on the season, 2-0 in the Ivy League, while Brown fell to 1-2, 0-2. The Tigers will look to end the 2010 portion of their season with a pair of wins tomorrow, as they head to Williams College to take on both Williams and Middlebury.
While there were six 3-0 wins for Princeton, the team match still had its moments of drama. The top one came during the first session, when Seth dropped a 12-10 decision to trail 2-1 in his No. 6 match. He fought for an 11-8 win in the fourth, and then neither he nor William Bryan would back down in the fifth. Finally, Seth took the final points for a 13-11 win.
Classmate Peter Sopher was in a bit of early trouble after a 12-10 loss in the first, but he dropped only 10 points total over the next three games to win 3-1. His brother Philip nearly pulled off the comeback of the match, but his 2-0 rally came up just short in an 11-5 fifth-game loss.
Sophomore Todd Harrity remained perfect at the No. 1 spot, losing only seven points in a 3-0 win over Brad Thompson.
