Men's Swimming/Diving Completes Ivy Sweep With Win Over Columbia

The Princeton men's swimming and diving team won 15 of 16 events Friday night en route to a 174-117 victory over Columbia at DeNunzio Pool. The win caps a perfect regular season for the Tigers, who will look to repeat as Ivy League champions when the conference meet returns to Princeton during the first weekend of March.
Princeton opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:31.82. The team of Kaspar Raigla, Jon Christensen, David Reid and Geoff Faux got Princeton off to a winning start, while the team of Tristan Hastings, Brian Barrett, Adlai Pappy and Alex Verdegem placed third overall in 1:33.98.
Princeton's Colin Hanna won the first individual event of the day in 9:30.09, while Will Lawley headed a 1-2-3-4 Princeton finish in the 200 free with a winning time of 1:41.31. Jon Hartmann placed second in 1:41.89, while Brett Lullo (1:42.73) and Travis McNamara (1:44.13) placed third and fourth, respectively.
Raigla picked up an individual win in the 100 back in 51.56, barely edging teammate Hastings in 51.92. Christensen won the 100 breast in 56.30, while Pappy won the 200 fly in 1:52.38. Barrett won a thriller in the 50 free; his time of 21.00 topped Faux by .05 of a second and teammate Mike Monovoukas by .17 of a second.
In the first diving event of the evening, freshman Stevie Vines cleared the field with 342.97 points, while senior teammate Daniel Dickerson placed second with 287.70 points. Senior tri-captain Jon Hartmann edged fellow tri-captain Chris Quemena in the 100 free with a winning time of 46.02, while Alex Morrison won the 200 back by more than two seconds with a time of 1:54.35.
Columbia's Eric Tang won the 200 breast in 2:05.54, while Princeton freshman Kila Pickering placed second in 2:06.80. Christensen picked up a second win in the 500 free (4:35.70), while Bryan Tay topped Reid by .04 of a second to win the 100 fly in 50.15.
Dickerson and Vines switched places in the one-meter diving competition, with Dickerson posting a winning score of 332.40 points and Vines placing second with 311.17 points. Tay won the 200 IM in 1:54.42, and the Tiger foursome of Matt Lamonaca, Monovoukas, Faux and Peter Fellowes won the 200 free relay in 1:23.56.
