Men's Squash Stays In Ivy Race With 9-0 Victory At Dartmouth
February 07, 2010 | Men's Squash
With no margin for error remaining, the Princeton men's squash team took care of business Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 win at Dartmouth.
The win moves Princeton to 8-2, 4-1 in the Ivy League. The Tigers' Ivy League finale will come at Harvard Sunday at 3 p.m. The Crimson is currently ranked fifth nationally, although it is undefeated in the Ivy League; for Princeton to claim a share of the league title, it needs to win at Harvard Sunday and then hope the Crimson can defeat Yale next weekend.
While five of Princeton's nine starters won 3-0 matches, two players were pushed to the limit before claiming wins. David Pena rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 at No. 6, and Nikhil Seth also rallied from a 2-1 hole to win a marathon match at No. 8.
Both Kelly Shannon (No. 4) and Philip Sopher (No. 9) dropped their first game before winning three straight.
