Princeton Ends Fall 25th In Directors' Cup Standings

Princeton University's Athletic Department is ranked 25th in Division I in the final Leerfield Sports Directors Cup standings for the fall season.

Princeton has 184 points, three points behind UCLA for 24th. The schools directly behind Princeton are Michgan State, Auburn, Florida and Boston College and only New Mexico at 23 ranks higher than Princeton for a non-BCS Conference school
Stanford, with 399 points, is in first place.
The Directors' Cup allocates points soley for how schools finish in the NCAA championship events for the selected sports each year. By year's end, there will be 10 men's sports and 10 women's sports that contribute to the final standings.
Princeton received points this fall for men's and women's cross country, field hockey and men's soccer.
In the 17 years that the Cup has been awarded, Princeton has finished in the top 50 14 times and the top 40 12 times. There have been five Top 30 finishes, with an all-time best of 21st in 2001-02.
Princeton has improved its finish each of the last four years, going from 63rd to 60th to 40th to 32nd a year ago.
Princeton has also been the highest finishing Ivy school 16 times in 17 years.
