Volleyball Sweeps Brown 3-0 to Remain First in Ivy

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/15/11) - The Princeton volleyball team swept Brown 3-0 to sit in first place in the Ivy League on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Dillon Gym.
Princeton won 26-24, 25-23 and 25-19 to improve to 12-6 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy League. Brown falls to 6-11 and 2-4 in league play.
Princeton is now in a first place tie with Yale, which the Tigers defeated 3-1 Friday night. Yale swept Penn 3-0 to keep pace with Princeton at 6-1 midway through the Ivy League season. Both teams moved one match ahead of Columbia, which fell 3-0 at Harvard Saturday.
Junior Lydia Rudnick and senior Cathryn Quinn paced the offense with 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Rudnick added 10 digs to go along with her .353 hitting percentage. She added one service ace and one solo block. Junior Jennifer Palmquist added 10 kills and had five blocks, two solo. Freshman setter Ginny Willis had 34 assists while senior libero Hillary Ford picked up 10 digs. Sophomore Chelsea Parker had three, half of her team's aces.
The Tigers will play five straight road matches after tomorrow, beginning Friday night at Penn. Princeton's final home weekend will be Nov. 11-12 when it hosts Cornell and Columbia.
