Men's Water Polo Gets by Hopkins; Will Face Navy Sunday for Southern Title

Princeton jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a quarter and allowed just one Blue Jay goal over the first three quarters in claiming Saturday's win. The top-seeded Tigers got five goals from Drew Hoffenberg and two from Thomas Nelson, while four others scored single goals.
Nelson and Sam Butler both added two assists in the win, while Nelson led the way with four steals. Ben Dearborn went the distance in goal and made 15 saves, including five in the first and third quarters.
Princeton scored once on seven man-up chances and converted on one of two 5-meter shots. Hopkins was three of nine with the extra man and missed a 5-meter shot.
The Tigers will meet Navy in tomorrow's championship game at 2 p.m. The Tigers are the defending Southern Champions and have claimed the title in two of the past three seasons. Princeton and Navy met for the 2009 title, which was won by Navy. Princeton beat Bucknell in last season's title game. Princeton is now 20-7 overall.
