Women's Hockey Tripped up at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. (2/5/11) - Dartmouth scored three first-period goals to race out to an early lead and never look back in a 7-0 win over the Princeton women's hockey team on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Arena.
Dartmouth jumped on the scoreboard midway through the first period when Reagan Fischer converted on the power play from Jenna Hobeika and Eric Dobos. Hobeika and Fischer led the way for Dartmouth with four and three points respectively.
Jessica Gagner and Alyssa Boehm added goals in the first period to make the Dartmouth lead 3-0. In the second period Kelly Foley scored on the power play 51 seconds into the period and Amanda Trunzo made it 5-0 at 7:33. Hobeika wrapped things up with two goals in the third period.
Rachel Weber took the loss, allowing the first five goals on 21 shots in 27:33. Cassie Seguin made nine saves in relief.
Princeton falls to 12-12-1 overall and 9-8-1 in ECAC Hockey with the loss. Princeton is now tied for fifth in the ECAC standings with Clarkson, one point behind fourth-place Quinnipiac in the race for the final home-ice playoff spot in the ECAC quarterfinals.
