Sept. 22 TigerCast: Sabrina King and Steve Verbit
September 22, 2011 | Football, General, Women's Volleyball
Women's volleyball head coach Sabrina King and football associate head coach Steve Verbit join the latest edition of TigerCast before important early home weekends.
King, in her first season as women's volleyball head coach, has led Princeton to a 7-5 record while blending a lineup that often includes as many freshmen as seniors. She has spent the last month trying to find the best chemistry for the Ivy League opener, which takes place Friday night at Dillon Gym against reigning league champion Penn (7 p.m.). King talks about the team, its growth over the preseason and the impact that longtime head coach Glenn Nelson has left on her as she begins her head coaching career.
Verbit is in his 27th year with Princeton and currently serves as both the associate head coach and defensive line coach for a Tiger team that fought valiantly in a 34-22 loss to No. 16 Lehigh last weekend. Princeton continues a three-week homestand Saturday night against Bucknell, who is led by head coach Joe Susan; Verbit and Susan were teammates and roommates at the University of Delaware, and they both served as Princeton coordinators for eight years.
