Swim/Dive Teams Close 2014 With Trips To Winter Nationals/Brown Open

The Princeton men's and women's swimming and diving teams will conclude the 2014 portion of the schedule this weekend with trips to both the 2014 AT&T Winter National Championships in Greensboro, N.C., and the Brown Open in Providence, R.I.
Nine members of the swimming program made the trip to Winter Nationals. On the men's side, Teo D'Alessandro, Michael Strand, Sam Smiddy, Byron Sanborn and Sandy Bole will be in competition, while Olivia Chan, Nikki Larson, Lindsay Temple and Elsa Welshofer are competing for the women.

The rest of the men's and women's teams will head to the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence for the three-day Brown Open, which begins Friday morning at 11 and runs through a Sunday finals session that begins at 5 pm. The meet will feature five Ivy League teams (Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale) as well as Rider.

While the meet format will be similar to the Ivy League Championship weekend, it will also serve as the dual meets for Princeton against both Brown and Dartmouth. Both Tiger teams are looking to keep their perfect Ivy League records intact after Ivy-opening victories against both Cornell and Penn.
Following the weekend, the Princeton men will be off until a Jan. 3 meet against Navy (2 pm), while the women will be off until Jan. 9, when they host N.C. State at 5 pm. That meet will serve as Senior Day for both the men's and women's teams.
