April 28, 2014 | General
In 1986, a group of generous Princeton donors established this endowed position in honor of former head football coach Charles W. Caldwell Jr. '25, who led the Tiger football program from 1945 until his death in 1957. Caldwell compiled a 70-30-3 record and won six consecutive Big Three championships. His 1950 and 1951 teams posted 9-0 records that were part of a 24-game winning streak that remains the school record to this day.
