Sports Dietician Victoria Rosenfeld Honored With Excellence Award
May 30, 2014 | General
Nine national awards recognizing special achievement and contributions to advanced-practice sports nutrition were presented May 21 in Arizona by the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA), including the prestigious “Excellence Award,” given to Victoria Rosenfeld, RD, CSSD, Sports Registered Dietitian at Princeton University.
The award is given in recognition for providing the highest quality of care to athletes and for extraordinary dedication to the profession and to CPSDA.
Rosenfeld has long been regarded among her peers as a thoughtful, visionary leader, one reason she was elected last month to join the nine-member CPSDA Board of Directors. She is the current program developer for sports nutrition at Princeton for 38 varsity sports. Rosenfeld also serves as the nutrition therapist for one of the oldest and most advanced outpatient eating disorder treatment teams in college health.
Rosenfeld, a newly seated member of the CPSDA Board, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Colorado State University, completed her internship at Hines VA Hospital in Illinois, and anticipates completing her Master's Degree in Biology next year from the University of Nebraska. She is acknowledged for drawing upon career-building experiences that include medical-based fitness, wellness, pediatrics and her service as a dietitian in the U.S. Army Reserves.
“From where CPSDA is today,” Rosenfeld said, “we can begin to envision more top RDs joining the relative handful of highly skilled professional members we have now in performance nutrition. And with that growth comes a level of sophistication that will be recognized by more and more directors of athletics for making measurable contributions to the success of their programs.”
