PRINCETON, N.J. – The 12th-ranked Princeton University men's water polo team improved to 10-1 on the season with a pair of victories over No. 20 George Washington and Bucknell.
Securing a 13-7 decision over the Colonials in the morning session, Princeton picked up a 9-6 victory over the Bison in the nightcap. The Tigers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 5 against the United States Naval Academy. Earlier this season, the Orange and Black bested the Midshipmen, 12-7.

Downing the Colonials for the second time in as many weeks, Princeton improved to 36-1 all-time against George Washington. Outscoring the visitors 5-0 in the first quarter, the Tigers took an 8-2 lead into the intermission. With both teams battling to a 5-5 tie the rest of the way, Princeton held onto a 13-7 victory.
Thomas Nelson led Princeton with four goals, four steals, two blocks and an assist, while Jordan Colina went 3-0 on sprints with three goals, four steals and two blocks. Bret Hinrichs also posted a hat trick, while Jamie Kuprenas, Drew Hoffenberg and Jovan Jeremic each had a goal. Connor McGoldrick and Kuprenas dished out three assists apiece.
Playing all 32 minutes in net, Vojislav Mitrovic recorded 10 saves. Making three stops in the first half, Mitrovic collected six saves in the final 16 minutes of action, including five in the fourth quarter to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Behind Alex Gow's career-high 19 saves, Princeton improved to 10-1 on the season with a 9-6 victory over Bucknell University.
Tied at 2-2 after the first quarter, the Tigers accounted for two of the three goals in the second period to head into the locker room with a slim 4-3 margin. Once again outscoring the Bison 2-1 in the third, the Orange and Black scored three of the game's final five goals to claim a 9-6 decision.
Making five saves in each of the first three periods, Gow tacked on four stops in the final frame to set a new career benchmark, besting his 17-save performance against Mercyhurst on Nov. 10, 2013. Hoffenberg paced the Princeton attack with three goals, while Kuprenas and Jeremic each had two goals and an assist. Drawing a pair of ejections, Colina chipped in with a goal and team-high three steals, while McGoldrick handed out three helpers.
