Winner Named Suburban Transit GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week
September 29, 2014 | General
Hannah Winner entered Saturday's women's soccer game at Yale in the eighth minute as an injury substitution and stopped six shots, helping the Tigers to a 1-0 win in the team's Ivy League opener.
Winner, a sophomore, played in three games last year as a freshman and made one start. Her appearance at Yale was her first of the year, and Winner had no margin for error with the game staying scoreless until the 85th minute when Princeton's Tyler Lussi scored the soon-to-be game-winner.
The win gave Princeton three valuable standings points in league play, tying the team with Columbia and Harvard as fellow opening-game winners. The Tigers will face Dartmouth at 7 p.m. Saturday on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
