Kendall Peterkin Claims First 2014 Ivy Volleyball Player Of The Week Honor
September 09, 2014 | Women's Volleyball
Kendall Peterkin, who has ranked among the Ivy League's Top 3 in both kills and points each of the last two seasons, raised her game another level to start the 2014 season. Peterkin averaged nearly 4.5 kills per set to earn the first Ivy League Volleyball Player of the Week award for the 2014 season.
Peterkin was named to the Temple Invitational all-tournament team after recording an Ivy-best 58 kills over the three-match weekend. She saved her best effort for the finale, when Princeton nearly rallied past an unbeaten Temple team before falling 16-14 in the fifth set. Peterkin, a former first-team All-Ivy honoree, posted her first career 20-20 match with 24 kills and 22 digs; she added five blocks in the near win over Temple.
Peterkin is the only player in the Ivy League to rank in the Top 5 in both kills and digs through the opening weekend. She will lead Princeton back into action this weekend when the Tigers head to the Delaware Invitational. The competition will begin at 11 am Friday against George Mason.
