Mitrovic Sets Program Record; Tigers Top Harvard in CWPA Semifinal

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 11th-ranked Princeton University men's water polo team punched its ticket to a third-straight Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship game with a 10-8 victory over Harvard.
Avenging a 12-6 loss in the Ivy League championship, the Tigers improved to 21-4 on the season. Princeton will square off with Johns Hopkins on Sunday, Nov. 22 in the tournament final. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
Making 20 saves, Vojislav Mitrovic upped his 2015 total to 279, surpassing Gregory Stoll's single-season program record of 266 set in 1997. Turning away three saves in the first, Mitrovic stopped six stops in the second quarter. Racking up six more saves in the third, Mitrovic had five save in the final frame.
His 20 stops tied his season-high of 20 against Navy in the CWPA Southern Championship. Those 20 saves tied a program single-game record held by Peter Sabbatini (vs. Navy, Nov. 28, 2003) and Scott Syverson (at Bucknell, Sept. 14, 2007).
Thomas Nelson led the Tigers with four goals and an assist. Jordan Colina and Matt Payne each had a pair of goals, while Curtis Fink and Ryan Wilson also got on the board. Jamie Kuprenas had three blocks.
