Video Feature: Captains, Coach Share Optimism Prior To Volleyball Opener
September 02, 2015 | Women's Volleyball
Following Tuesday's written preview on the upcoming 2015 Princeton women's volleyball season, which you can read using the link above, you can now hear from co-captains Sarah Daschbach and Kendall Peterkin, as well as head coach Sabrina King, in the video feature above.
Princeton will open its 2015 season this weekend at the George Washington Invitational, where it will play matches against the host Colonials (Friday, 10 am), Radford (Friday, 5:30 pm) and UC-Davis (Saturday, 1 pm). There will be live stats for each match, which you can access through the Tournament Central page, and there will be live video of the George Washington match (a daily pass to watch the match will cost $6.95).
George Washington is 0-3 on the season, though it has faced the likes of No. 11 Oregon, Michigan and Oakland early on. George Washington played its home opener Tuesday night against the 11th-ranked Ducks and got out to a 2-0 lead, but couldn't finish the win. Four players had double-digit kills for the home squad, including a match-high 18 for Chidima Osuchukwa.
Radford is coming off a perfect 3-0 weekend at its own Highlander Invitational, including a 3-1 win over Pac-12 member Washington State. Radford held its opponents to a .125 attack percentage over the weekend, while Megan Short hit over .400 on her own with 3.8 points per set.
UC-Davis is also 0-3, but like George Washington, has played a loaded schedule. After a loss to 12th-ranked Colorado State, the Aggies fell in five sets to Baylor. Kaylin Squyres had 22 kills and 13 digs in the loss.
