February 22, 2016 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Amanda Berntsen was selected as Ivy League Co-Player of the Week, the league announced today. It's the senior's first career weekly award.
Berntsen began the weekend with a stellar performance, going 7-of-10 from the floor (70 percent), scoring 20 points, dishing out five assists and snagging three rebounds in the Tigers' 94-81 win over Yale. She tied her career best with two three-pointers, six free throw attempts and was just one point shy of tying her personal mark.
The Chatham, N.J. native followed that outing with another spectacular shooting day against Brown, going 6-of-8 (75 percent). In Princeton's 83-57 victory over the Bears, Berntsen dropped 13 points, had six rebounds and four assists.
Over the last four games, Berntsen is averaging 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists per game. During that stretch, the senior has shot a team-high 69 percent (20-of-29) from the floor along with five three-pointers on eight attempts (62.5 percent).
Princeton will look to extend its eight-game winning streak with a trip to Columbia on Feb. 26 and Cornell the next night (Feb. 27). The Tigers took down Cornell, 71-51 and Columbia, 86-54 earlier this month.
