Kanoff Breaks Ivy League Passing Record, Princeton Career Mark, But Tigers Drop Final Heartbreaker

Kanoff completed 37 of 46 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns, including two more to Princeton single-season touchdown catch leader Jesper Horsted, and gave Princeton a 44-41 lead with 3:02 to go. Dartmouth answered with a 70-yard touchdown drive that ended with a 2-yard touchdown run by wildcat quarterback Jared Gerbino with one second remaining. The Big Green added one more score on the ensuing kickoff when Ryan Roegge picked off a pitch attempt by Charlie Volker to cap a 34-point fourth quarter by the Big Green.
The fourth quarter alone will be remembered for years in this historic rivalry. There were eight different scores, six lead changes and a tie, and a 24-yard pass from Kanoff to Stephen Carlson with just over 5:00 to go in the fourth quarter that moved Kanoff past Jeff Mathews on the Ivy League single-season passing list. Kanoff ended the season with 3474 yards, 62 more than Mathews had for Cornell in the 2011 season, and his 29 touchdown passes ranks second all-time to Brown's Eric Webber, who had 30 during the 2000 season.

Horsted finished his day with 12 catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns, while Carlson added 10 catches for 138 yards and a score of his own. Junior Charlie Volker scored three rushing touchdowns, giving him 14 on the season, while Ryan Quigley added a career-best seven catches for 61 yards.
The Tiger defense was led by Ben Ellis (14 tackles) and Adam Hoffman (12), while junior linebacker Tom Johnson ended his season with a team-best 95 tackles. Tavish Rice added a career-long 42-yard field goal in the game.
