June 21, 2017 | General
University Orthopaedic Associates (UOA) is thrilled to announce its partnership with Princeton Athletics as UOA orthopaedic surgeons have been named the official orthopedist for Princeton's 37 varsity athletic teams.
The relationship between UOA and Princeton Athletics dates back to 1968, when the late Dr. Joseph Zawadsky '51, a Princeton graduate, three-year football letterwinner and a UOA senior partner, began serving the medical needs of Princeton athletes. The relationship was expanded in 1996 when current UOA orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey R. Bechler began caring for Princeton athletes.
"Dr. Jeff Bechler and the University Orthopaedics Associates group has been an incredible consultant partner for Princeton University Athletic Medicine to work with," Margot Putukian, MD, FACSM, Princeton's Director of Athletic Medicine, head team physician and Assistant Director of Medical Services, said. "Dr. Bechler is always available and his group is professional and always accommodating to our students. It is a pleasure to work with Dr. Bechler and his partners, and it is comforting to have consultants that provide excellent expertise in every realm of orthopedics. They have been instrumental in the success of our program."
With more than 40 years of experience treating families and athletes, UOA is well equipped to assist Princeton Athletics and is proud to serve the program's duties of care for its student-athletes:
