No. 12 Princeton Comes Back For Thrilling 15-14 Victory Over No. 13 UC-San Diego

LOS ANGELES – The No. 12 Princeton Tigers completed the Mountain Pacific Invitational with an impressive 15-14 comeback victory over the No. 13 UC-San Diego Tritons at the Burns Recreational Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Highlights:
The Tritons ran out to a 6-2 advantage after the first quarter.
Princeton climbed back to within one in the second frame, but trailed 8-6 at halftime.
The Tigers rallied to take a two-goal advantage in the third stanza, but UC-San Diego tied it at 14-all with 33 seconds remaining in the game.
Jordan Colina posted the game-winner with 12 seconds to go.

In front by one, the Tritons registered three straight goals, taking a 6-2 lead after eight minutes. The Tigers got within one on two occasions in the second quarter, but still trailed 8-6 at the intermission.
Princeton made a push after halftime, coming all the way to back to tie the game at 9-all at the 4:12 mark of the stanza. Miles Cole's tally with 25 seconds to go in the third, set the score at 10-all.
Michael Swart and Colina scored the first two goals of the final quarter, giving Princeton a 12-10 lead. The Tigers maintained a lead throughout the frame until a tally from the Tritons with 33 seconds left. Colina answered right back, scoring as the clock read 12 seconds.
Princeton comes home to DeNunzio Pool to begin Northeast Water Polo Conference play vs. No. 11 Harvard next Saturday. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on the Ivy League Network.
