Princeton Finishes As Only Non-Power Five School In Directors' Cup Top 40

Princeton has finished the 2017-18 academic year ranked 40th in the Directors' Cup. Princeton was also the only non-Power Five school in the top 40.
The final standings were announced after the conclusion of the College World Series.
The NACDA Director's Cup, which measures overall athletic success through NCAA championship participation and success, turned 25 this year. For the 22nd time, Princeton was the top finishing school in the Ivy League.
Beyond that, Princeton was the only Football Championship Subdivision team to finish in the top 64. Of the top 40 teams, the breakdown by conference was the SEC with 12, the Pac 12, ACC and Big Ten with eight each and the Big 12 with three, in addition to Princeton.
The Tigers received points in the spring from women's open rowing, women's lacrosse, women's tennis, women's track and field and women's golf.
Princeton has now finished in the top 50 for 10 straight years, with six top 40 finishes in that time. Princeton has never been lower than 63rd, with a high of 21st in the 2001-02 academic year. Princeton's average finish for the first 25 years has been 38.9.
