Mimi Lin Makes NCAA Championships Debut, Places 42nd In 1-Meter Competition
March 21, 2019 | Women's Swimming and Diving
Junior Mimi Lin completed a magical postseason Thursday by making her NCAA Championships debut on the 1-meter board during the first full day of nationals in Austin, Texas. Lin, the only Ivy League diver to qualify for the 1-meter championships, scored 237.80 points to finish 42nd overall.
Lin's best dive came in the fourth round, a reverse 1 1/2 somersault pike that she scored 46.80 points on. She had two other dives that scored 40+ points, including a forward 2 1/2 somersault tuck in round two that scored 43.20 points.
Lin, who suffered through two injury-plagued years to open her Princeton career, won the 3-meter title at the Ivy League Championships, and then she nailed her final dive at the Zone Championships to qualify for her first NCAAs. She was named the High Point Diver of the Meet after also making the 1-meter final.
