The Princeton men's and women's golf programs announce the opening of the team's Performance Center, located on-site at Springdale Golf Club adjacent to campus.
The Performance Center houses four hitting bays with Pro Putt putting surfaces throughout and the game's latest technology. The technology includes: multiple Trackman units, K-Vest trainers, and video swing analysis. The facility also has 24 oversized lockers for team members to store their clubs and equipment, and a fully furnished lounge area perfect for schoolwork or spending time with teammates.
"The Performance Center at Springdale is the culmination of years of planning, prioritizing, fundraising and execution," Will Green, the J. Stuart Francis '74 head coach of Princeton men's golf, said. "The finished product places Princeton firmly at the forefront of the Ivy League for golf facilities. To be able to partner with Springdale Golf Club to make this concept a reality, literally across the street from campus, shows the commitment that Princeton University and our neighbors have to our program. Princeton has long stood for excellence in every facet of the undergraduate experience, and the Performance Center at Springdale absolutely embodies that commitment."
"Our Performance Center will allow us to maintain our status as a top team in the Ivy League, while also becoming more competitive on a national level," Princeton head women's golf coach Erika DeSanty said. The new facility will enhance programs that have won a combined 12 Ivy League championships since 2000.
She continued, "One of the most thrilling roles we have coaching at Princeton is our ability to recruit the most talented student-athletes in the world. We often find ourselves recruiting against some of the very best Division I programs in the country. Now, in addition to offering these prospective student-athletes the No. 1 undergraduate degree as well as a terrific home course on campus, we are also offering a year-round indoor-outdoor facility. Our Performance Center will help us to win many of these recruiting battles moving forward, because becoming a Tiger is the finest decision an elite golfer can make."
