August 05, 2019 | Men's Squash
Princeton squash alum Todd Harrity '13 won double gold in the men's doubles and in the team event for Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
This marks the first time, since squash's inclusion in the Pan American Games in 1995, that Team USA won both the men's and women's team gold medals. In total the squash teams contributed seven medals to Team USA's total of 65 as of July 31.
The men upset the top two seeds, Mexico and Colombia, to bring home the first gold medal in history for the USA men's team.
Harrity and teammate Chris Hanson made history with a surprise men's double gold medal run. The 3/4 seeded Americans opened with a 2-0 win over Bermuda and was pitted against Perus' No. 2 seeds Diego Elias & Alsonso Escudero in the semifinal. Harrity and Hanson defeated the pair, 11-8, 11-8. In the final, Harrity and Hanson defeated Canada's Shawn Delierre and Nick Sachvie 6-11, 11-5, 11-8.
