Princeton Announces Extended Partnership With NBC Sports; First Broadcast Is Princeton-BU Women's Soccer
September 05, 2019 | General
With the opening of the brand-new H.G. Levine Broadcast Center, the Princeton University Department of Athletics will be expanding its partnership with NBC Sports Philadelphia/NBC Sports Philadelphia+ as it enters its third year.
Princeton will be producing events in a greater number of sports that will be available on NBC Sports Philadelphia/NBC Sports Philadelphia+. All of these events will also be able to be seen on ESPN+ as well.
The fall schedule begins with the women's soccer game on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium between Princeton and Boston University. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. on NBC Sports Philadelphia+.
There will also be games televised in the fall for NBC Sports Philadelphia+ in men's water polo (vs. Bucknell, Sept. 14), field hockey (vs. Penn State, Sept. 15; vs. Rutgers, Sept. 20) and men's soccer (vs. Virginia Tech, Oct. 29), marking the first time Princeton has produced these sports for a regional sports network.
"We're excited about the opportunity the Levine Broadcast Center provides us to expand our relationship with NBC Sports Philadelphia and NBC Sports Philadelphia+," says Princeton's Assistant Director of Athletics for Multimedia Cody Chrusciel. "Each of the teams we'll be showcasing this fall have been nationally ranked over the past year, and this new facility
and continued partnership allow us to spotlight these successful programs on a major regional sports network for the first time."
In the winter, Princeton is planning to produce events in basketball, hockey and wrestling, with lacrosse to follow in the spring as part of this partnership.
These events will all originate at the Levine Broadcast Center, which opened this summer after a generous gift from Steven Mayer of the Class of 1981 and his wife Laura.
