October 16, 2020 | General
Celebrating the 50-year anniversary of the dawn of women's athletics at Princeton, the First 50 podcast will visit with figures who were influential in bringing the women's athletic program to life, and with those who helped it become the outfit that has won more than 200 Ivy League championships, 22 individual national championships and 33 team national championships.
New episodes will be added every 2-3 weeks as the celebration of 50 years of Princeton women's athletics runs through the fall of 2021.
The first episode, linked below, talks with Margie Gengler Smith '73 and Helena Novakova '72, who became the first two women to compete in an athletic event for Princeton when they ventured to New Paltz, N.Y., for what became a successful weekend at the Eastern Intercollegiate championships.
