February 10, 2020 | General
Sophomore Travis Stefanik had the clinching win to deliver Princeton a 19-13 win over Cornell Sunday in Jadwin Gym, giving Princeton its first win over the Big Red since 1986 and the Tigers their first Ivy League title since 1986.
The win also broke Cornell's 92-match Ivy League winning streak, a span that began in 2002.
Stefanik's win was his fourth in a row in duals, improving him to 4-0 in the Ivy League and 8-4 on the season overall. It was also the last in a string of five wins that flipped a 10-4 Cornell lead to a 19-10 Princeton advantage, clinching the win for the Tigers.
Stefanik and teammates will aim for an Ivy League sweep next Saturday in Dillon Gym, hosting Penn at noon in the season's final Ivy League bout before Drexel visits at 2 p.m.
