No. 10 Men's Water Polo Season Ends With Loss To No. 1 UCLA

LOS ANGELES – The No. 10 Princeton Tigers' magical 2021 campaign came to an end in the NCAA Quarterfinals with a 12-6 loss to No. 1 UCLA on Thursday evening.
With the loss, Princeton ends the year with a 26-8 record. The Tigers' 26 victories and 430 goals were program records while earning the program's sixth conference title.
No. 1 UCLA started off the contest with three goals, holding Princeton off the scoreboard for the first seven minutes before a Pierce Maloney five-meter tally. The Bruins took a 4-1 lead into the second quarter.
The two teams exchanged goals to start the second quarter as Roko Pozaric's tally set the contest at 5-3 with 5:39 left in the first half. UCLA registered three straight after that and eventually took a 9-4 advantage into halftime.
Each team scored a goal in the third quarter. Princeton couldn't close the gap in the fourth stanza.
The Class of 2022 featuring Wyatt Benson, Ned Bless, Mitchell Cooper, Billy Motherway and Miles Wilson will graduate with two Northeast Water Polo Conference crowns and 61 career victories.
