Men's Squash Earns Exciting Win Over Yale, 5-4

Princeton, N.J. – The Princeton men's squash team won an exciting match against the Yale Bulldogs, 5-4, that came down to the very last moments of a five-game, match played by Zain Ahmed.
Having secured the win on Sunday, the Princeton men gain back-to-back victories for the weekend, remain undefeated at home for the 2022-23 season, and improve the teams' record to 6-1.
Karim Elbarbary at the No. 2 position, Hassan Khalil at the No. 5 position, and Alastair Cho at the No. 6 position added the first Tiger wins for Princeton.
Both Elbarbary and Cho swept their Yale opponents, 3-0 to gain the victory. Hassan Khalil was able to win his match in four games to outscore his opponent 3-1.
Following a 3-1 win from Thomas Rosini at the No. 2 position, the match was evenly tied between the Tigers and the Bulldogs at 4-4.
The fate of the Tigers was in the well-equipped hands of Zain Ahmed at the No. 7 position.
Ahmed dropped the first game to his Yale opponent, Arav Bhagwati 7-11. Ahmed responded by winning the second game in his favor, 11-7.
In a back and forth manner, Yale's, Bhagwati then won game three, allowing him to take a 2-1 lead.
Ahmed, cheered on by his Princeton teammates coaches, and fans, would not back down.
Game four was won by Ahmed 11-8, and he was jut one game away from securing the win for Princeton.
Ahmed closed out the match on a high note for Princeton taking an early 3-0 lead, that allowed him to accelerate past his Yale opponent, win game five, 11-5, and hand Princeton the win over Yale 5-4.
Zain Ahmed and the rest of the Tigers secured the win on their home court to end the weekend on a high note.

The Tigers will return to action in Philadelphia on Saturday Feburary 4th, to face the Penn Quakers on the road for their final Ivy League opponent of the 2022-23 schedule.
