
Princeton Closes Out 2023 CSA Men’s Team Championship Play with 5-4 Victory over Virginia

HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 3 Princeton men's squash team concluded post season play with a 5-4 victory to No. 5 Virginia on Sunday morning at the 2023 CSA Men's Team Championships at Trinity College.
The five wins for the Tigers against Virginia were won at the No. 3 position with Ahmed Hussein, No. 5 position with Alastair Cho, the No. 6 position with Gordon Lam, and the No. 8 and 9 positions with Avi Agarwal and David Beeson.
Hussein took a five-game match over Virginia's JP Tew to take the win. The fifth game played was an exciting 12-10 victory to ensure the Princeton point.
Cho swept his Virginia opponent 3-0, just dropping one point in his second game played with CJ Baldini. Another five-game match was played by Gordon Lam who after dropping his first two games made a major come back to win three straight over Virginia's Evan Hajek and take the win.
Avi Agarwal and David Beeson both swept their opponents 3-0 to give Princeton two more points in Sunday's match that helped to ensure a Tiger victory and end Potter Cup Play with a win to a top five opponent.
The Tigers end the team's 2022-23 season with an impressive, overall record of 11-4. The team remained undefeated at home and will now look to close out competition with the CSA Individual Tournament. Next weekend.
