Men's Squash Set for CSA Individual Championship Quarterfinals

Philadelphia, PA – Four members of the Princeton men's squash team competed in the opening round of the College Squash Association Individual Championships on Friday, March 3rd at the Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center.
Within the Pool Trophy division, Karim Elbarbary was seeded at No. 12, and he defeated No. 5 seed Siow Yee Xian with a final score of 3-2 to upset Xian.
The First-team, All-Ivy selection took the first game with a score of 16-14, dropped the next two games to Xian, but then outscored his opponent in the final two games with a score of 11-7 and 12-10 to take the victory to advance to the quarter finals. Elbarbary will take on number four seeded Mohamed Sharaf of Trinity on Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
Within the Molloy North Division, Ahmed Hussein defeated Kerwin Teh of Tufts in a 3-0 sweep. Hussein outscored Teh 33-23 to take three straight wins that will advance him to the Quarter Finals where he will face Drexel's Yuri Pollak Pelbart on Saturday at 2:45 p.m.
Alhassan Khalil represented Princeton within the Molloy South Division as the number six seed.
He defeated No. 11, Omar Zakaria of Rochester in a 3-0 sweep. Khalil dominated the match offensively, only dropping one point to Zakaria in the opening game.
On Saturday Match 4th, Khalil will face number three Denis Gilvensky at 4:20 p.m.
Within the Pool Trophy division, Daelum Mawji was defeated by Penn's Nicholas Spizzirri, 1-3. Despite winning the opening game 11-7, Spizzirri took the match by winning the next, three straight games.
