Women’s Rugby Announces 2023 Fall Schedule
July 27, 2023 | Women's Rugby
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton University women's rugby Head Coach Josie Ziluca announced the program's schedule for the 2023 fall season Thursday, the Tigers' second at the varsity level.
"Our team looks forward to our second year competing in NCAA Rugby within the NIRA league," said Ziluca. "The level of play from this tier is tremendous, which has been a source of inspiration for our Princeton Rugby team's preparation heading into this season.
This fall's schedule allows for more home matches and restoration opportunities. Our first match will begin on the road against Brown on Saturday, September 2. This will be a strong matchup right out of the gates. The Tigers will need to stay in stride with Brown's strong freshman class additions. Our first home match will be against Mount Saint Mary's on Saturday, September 9, out on West Windsor Rugby Field, kicking off at 12:00 p.m. We hope you can join us in supporting our women's rugby team that day.
The following weekend, Saturday, September 16, will feature a triple-header with the women's varsity team kicking off at 12:00 p.m. versus Dartmouth, followed by the men's club A-side versus King's Point Merchant Marines at 2:00 p.m., and concluding with the men's club B-side match at 4:00 p.m. versus Seton Hall.
Another notable home match for our varsity women's team will be on Saturday, October 14, with kickoff at 12:00 p.m. versus Harvard. Thank you for the continued support of our Rugby Tigers!"
Princeton opens the season against Ivy League opponent Brown in Providence, Rhode Island, on Saturday, September 2, before hosting Mount Saint Mary's in its home opener at West Windsor Fields on Saturday, September 9. The Tigers will then host their second home of the season against Dartmouth on Saturday, September 16.
The Tigers make the trip to Boston, Massachusetts, on Sunday, October 1, to take on American International College before returning West Windsor Fields on Saturday, October 14, to host Harvard.
Regular season play wraps up against Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday, October 28, in a neutral site match.
