
No. 5 Men’s Water Polo Falls to No. 4 Seeded Stanford In NCAA Quarterfinals

STANFORD, Calif.- The No. 4 seeded Princeton men's water polo team fell to the No. 4 seeded Stanford Cardinal this afternoon at the NCAA Quarterfinals. After 23 wins, a new program record 514 goals, and wins against 11 ranked opponents, Princeton's 2024 season has come to an end.
Stanford struck first with two goals before Enrique Nuño took advantage of a foul to get Princeton on the board. Adam Peocz and Roko Pozaric each found the back of the cage to take the lead 3-2.
The Cardinal responded to tie things up at three a piece at the beginning of the second quarter before taking back the lead. Pozaric recorded his second goal of the game to even the score.
Stanford connected for five goals before Peocz scored to try to create a spark for the Tigers. The freshmen added another tally to the sheet for the hat trick with 12 seconds remaining in the third as the score stood at 9-6 in favor of the Cardinal.
The two teams traded goals to begin the fourth but Princeton was unable to hold off the opponent as the Tigers fell to the Cardinal.
