Fencers Enter Sunday Aiming for Championships at Ivies
February 10, 2024 | General, Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
Heading into the final day at the Ivy League Championships at Columbia, the Princeton fencing teams are both in contentions for Ivy titles.
The women are 3-0, halfway through their bouts after wins over Harvard, Cornell and Columbia. At 3-0, Princeton leads the standings, ahead of Columbia (3-1), Harvard (2-1), Penn (2-1), Yale (2-1), Brown (0-4) and Cornell (0-4). The Tigers will take on Brown at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by Penn at 11:15 a.m. and Yale at 1:15 p.m.
The men are 2-1 after wins over Penn and Yale and a loss to Harvard. Columbia leads at 2-0, ahead of Princeton (2-1), Harvard (1-1), Penn (1-2) and Yale (0-2). With only a match against Columbia tomorrow at 3:30 p.m., a win there would guarantee Princeton at least a share of the Ivy title.
Results, including individual standings, are available here.
