Women’s Rugby To Open 2024 Season At Rickerson Field At Haaga House Against Sacred Heart

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's rugby team will open the 2024 season, its third at the varsity level, against Sacred Heart at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. The match will be the first played at Rickerson Field at Haaga House.
The match will be Princeton's first of four at home in 2024. The Tigers welcome four freshmen to their roster for 2024-25; Annie Huettel, Lila King, Lindsey Mulligan and Raven Robinson. They join seniors Brooke Beers, Erica De San Jorge, Sofie Grouws, Zoë Koniaris, Elizabeth Polubinski, Amelia Sanchirico and Caroline Schückel along with juniors Alayshja Bable, Alyssa Brigham, Luiza Chevres, Amelia Clarke, Annabelle Edwards, Kenzy Elshazly, Samantha Handwerk, Megan Hickey, Ciara Loughran and Caroline Maguire. Rounding out the roster is the sophomore contingent of Eliana Bane, Laura Barnds, Alana Ferguson, Ava Gregory, Maya Kenny, Malinka Kwemo, Hannah Mulligan and Celia Watson.
The New Haaga House
The 7,260 GSF facility includes locker rooms, shower facilities, team rooms, athletic medicine room, public restrooms, covered public viewing areas, and a second-floor coaches' platform, as well as display cases. The new building is located at center field.

The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a Haaga House commemorative shirt.
Scouting Sacred Heart
The Pioneers are coming off a 2023 season where they had a 5-2 record and made their first National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) postseason appearance. The most recent meeting between the two programs took place on Sept. 3, 2022, in Fairfield, Connecticut. SHU prevailed over the Tigers, 53-21, in what was Princeton's historic first match at the varsity level.
